  • Omeryieh Mosque

  • Near the Old Municipal Market within the walled city
    Converted into a mosque in 1571 by Mustafa pasha, who believed that the original 14th century Augustinian Church od St. Mary's was built on the spot where prophet Pmer rested while visiting Nicosia.

  • Famagusta Gate

  • Nikiforos Fokas Ave.
    Porta Guiliana,  better known as Famagusta Gate, was one of the three gate entries to the old Venetian city of Nicosia with its 11 heart shaped bastions. After its restoration, Famagusta Gate is now the Nicosia Municipal Cultural Centre, hosting exhibitions, conferences, lectures and various performances.

  • Ayios Ioannis Cathedral

    The church, dediated to Ayios Ioannis (St. John), was built by Archibishop Nikiforos in 1662, and contains recently restored 18th century wall paintings depicting biblical scenes and the discovered tomb of Saint barnabas at Salamis

  • House of Hadjigerogakis Kornesios

  • Patriarch Gregoriou Str, near the Archibishopric
    Originally a Venetian building, it is probably the most important 18th century building in Nicosia. Once the house of the Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios, it has now  been restored and houses the Cyprus Ethnographic Museum. A Europa Nostra 1998 Award Winner project.
